Quality and Quantity Control

Our company is involved in surveyor and tallyman activities for all types of cargoes carried by any means of transportation.

Examination of cargo quality is performed in specially accredited laboratories (depending on the type of cargo). A laboratory establishes only the fact of compliance (non-compliance) of a sample with the requirements of Russian GOSTs and international standards.

In order to obtain a “representative” sample of cargo specialists of our company perform professional sampling at the spot of cargo handling for further laboratory analysis. Since the cargo quality (compliance) is evaluated to protect the interests of the one of contractual parties (shipper, recipient or freight carrier) we compile a complete set of documents which confirm the validity of quality examination.

Quantity of cargo is determined by various methods of counting, measuring and calculations. Company’s tallymen determine the quantity of cargo by counting the number of freight pieces, participate during cargo weighing in packing or means of transportation (r/w car, automobile, etc.). Check weighing of cargo can be performed independently on company’s equipment to verify that the real weight of a freight piece corresponds to the stated one.

The company performs the inspection of all types of transport vehicles and containers, their sealing at any time at customer’s demand. A wide range of the most modern sealing systems is used.

The company has an extensive experience in the determination of the quantity and quality of the following cargoes: frozen meat and food products, fruits and vegetables, any bulk cargoes, mobile machinery and equipment (including over-sized), non-ferrous metals, sawn timber and pulp-and-paper raw materials. To supplement expertise the company has an efficient system of training for employees who do not have adequate work experience. It ensures a very high level of work quality.

Inspection of containers

As you know, safe and efficient transportation of cargo is the purpose of container use. A container should withstand transportation by sea, railway etc., and its structural integrity represents the critical factor in the transportation process.

Our company has a vast experience in both preloading survey of empty containers for the assessment of their condition and readiness for cargo acceptance and in inspection of containers damaged in the process of cargo transportation.

Survey of containers is performed by experienced surveyors of our company who command the methods required for careful and efficient inspection of containers. Reporting documentation used by us comply with the most progressive international norms. Due to well-established connections we are able to estimate the cost of damaged container repair. Development of layout and fastening charts for various cargoes in a container is offered as a special service.

Inspection of vessels

Our company renders services of surveyor inspection of vessels, in particular:

• on/off-hire survey
• bunker survey (determination of quantity of fuel in vessel cisterns and tanks, including in the process of bunkering)
• full condition survey (full inspection of a vessel – it is required for insurers, mutual insurance clubs, ship brokers)

In order to fulfill such jobs we retain specialists with a higher marine education who inspect damages of various parts and mechanisms of the vessels. This type of survey includes an independent investigation of accident causes, including consultations with specific specialty experts.

Insurance events

Employees of our company have an experience of interaction with many Russian insurance companies. We understand well the interests of an insurance company in case of insurance event and coordinate our activities in accordance with them. Not infrequently, as a result of a survey, such facts are revealed which allow an insurance company to present a regression claim to an insured party. In case if you are the insured party we will present in our report the exhaustive and clear information about the losses suffered by you which will be comprehensible to underwriters. Besides, the information confirming the loss occurrence will be collected.
